Herbert Ross导演的本片，讲述两个在当年热爱芭蕾舞的女性好友，其一先成为家庭主妇，另一则继续舞蹈事业成为知名舞星。当她们看到下一代在舞蹈上的成就时，二人不禁为当年的恩怨而重新爆发冲突。通俗剧化的女性友谊故事，内容虽然丰富，但导演手法平凡，只有两位女主角的精采演出和芭蕾舞表演仍维持了吸引力。。Cosmo Vitelli是一个简洁的人，曾在朝鲜战争中担任兽医，他也是一个赌徒。他在加州有家脱衣舞点，叫做Crazy Horse West。 当我们遇上他的时候，他正在偿还最后一笔赌债。过后不久Vitelli又很快在一个非法的纸牌游戏中损失了$23,000，这次他的债务人不再友好，逼迫他马上偿清债务或是杀死一个唐人经纪以抵债。影片最后，以Cosmo Vitelli一个人站在夜总会门外寂寞的街头，开始用手抚摩因受伤流着血的腹部作为影片的结束。。Rianne Angers has spent the last nine years obsessing over the vicious murder of Gwen Anderson.
